Help? [12 Mar 2005|09:23pm]

Hey. I just created a community on lj called "Uniteforpeace" I'm not too html savy, nor do I think I could moderate the community on my own. The point of the community is for people to come together and promote peace. Simple hugh? I just feel like a lot of times the power of peace is underestimated. I also would like the community to deal with other aspects of the Bush Administration. I want people to feel free to express themselves, as well as post upcoming events. I would really appreicate all the help I could get.

e-mail me @: pacobu@aol.com
(also it would be fabulous if any georgian's send me an e-mail. I'm in the process of thinking about organizing a meeting in Atlanta sometime in the near future. I just get so frustrated down here. I feel like there are no outlets for us to speak.)

this community seems really great!! im upset that i just found out about it now. i was just wondering how old most of you are. i might be participating in a trip to DC called "close up washington d.c." or something along those lines. if you guys are in high school look into it because it seems really great, and i believe the government is something all young people should strongly be able to understand and be part of. thankssss you guys.

Sarah here reporting from Canada... I just thought I would give everyone the point of view of the election from a different country.

so Tuesday night, I couldn't find anything on the election except for on channel which was in French so I slightly scratched by with the translation, but I found out that most states had gone where they were predicted to go... blah blah blah blah blah...

then I wake up the next morning at 11 and I found out Kerry had conceded... now this was on all of the news channels in both languages
BUT the canadians KNEW BEFORE HAND why he did it
he didn't want a legal battle because that would have come out if someone said the ballots where counted wrong... AND he didn't want to divide the country even more so republicans against democrats can be a little nasty plus when the numbers all added up... he wouldn't have won anyways...

anyways... gas here is 87.9 cents per Liter which equats out it about 2.50 per gallon...I think

ok so I went to texas...
lets just say it's horrible right now

the ecomony is horrible and the number of people who graduated from coranado high school [el paso, texas high school] was 105...
also... no affence to any mexicans
but white and black people are the minority
and the mexican's are really racists [which I know is something you don't normal here in this case but they are]
so here's the blow by blow

I get off the plane... and I'm already getting looks because I have a kerry/ edwards sticker on my backpack
[it's a bumper sticker so it was pretty big]
plus El Paso [also know as El Crapo] is a republican city
and even the family that I was staying with asked me to pull off the sticker becuase they where scared something would happen [I guess there's a republican gang out there in El Paso or something... hahaha, I don't see why this would matter]
also the family I was staying with was originally from boston, mass. and where democratic...

but anyways
I went to school there for a day [shadowing my friend]
and boy... would you believe the type of shit people get for being white in a largly hispanic school.

the gas price
are you ready for this
1.65 and falling
and wrong that's what I have to say to it

well... that's all I got

alrighty then hi I'm sarah... the other mod. just posting to say hi and that I hope this turns into a really interesting thing.... so here is a little bit about myself

Name: Sarah Mcbryde Gray
Age: 16
Political Affiliation: Liberal Democrat
How You Get Your News: PSB, CCB, BBC, CNN, and I watch FOX just for fun
Brief History (optional): I'm actually half American/ half canadain so some time I don't feel like I have the exact right to give an oppinion but I will when I feel like I can. like most people I have a growing dislike for bush... he's run amuck the country that I live in and messed around with my way of live.
I also would like that quote a really nice teacher that said "no child left behind, no teacher left standing" and I believe that, someone just needs to give bush a swift kick in the arse
